There are big moments in every life and I spend a great deal of my time photographing one of the biggest, weddings. Occasionally, however, I get to photograph one of the first, a baby’s baptism. Growing up protestant, I saw baptisms that were slightly more low key with a dribble of holy water on the baby’s forehead. Greek ceremony’s are big, beautiful riots of color, sound and demonstrative joy and I just can’t get enough of them! A few months ago, Sophia’s baptism was my first greek ceremony and I spent much of my time in awe of the rituals and deep focus on family. Most recently, I had the honor of documenting the baptism of little Konstantine at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church. I was in photographic heaven.
All the men in Konstantine’s family wore identical bow ties by Rebecca of Apple and Ivy.
Konstantine’s big sister Evan was so sweetly empathetic.
Konstantine and his mom Maria.
Many thanks to Maria and Ted for allowing me to be there to document sweet little Konstantine’s day.
